The U.S. Agency for International Development, USAID/India is calling concept papers to improve the lives of people who live at the base of the economic pyramid (BOP) in India by supporting innovations at the interface of tuberculosis (TB) detection and treatment in urban communities.
Award Information
Estimated Total Amount: Through this RFA, USAID anticipates making one award in each Pool for a total of three awards at the following amounts:
- Pool 1: Award maximum of $9.5 million
- Pool 2: Award maximum of $7.5 million
- Pool 3: Award maximum of $5.5 million
The TB Health Action Learning Initiative (THALI) will work with the Revised National TB Control Program (RNTCP), municipal governments, and private providers to improve TB control across three classifications of cities, grouped based on population.
Eligibility Information
- Eligibility is restricted to local Indian organizations. Local Indian organizations can be private, non-profit organizations, including private voluntary organizations, universities, research organizations, professional associations, and relevant special interest associations.
- To be eligible, applicants must propose a minimum cost share of 10% of the projected USAID funded amount.
- USAID/India will not be able to disburse funds to a charitable organization without a valid FCRA.
- Each applicant is limited to one single concept paper submission as the prime in each of the Pools. Thus, one Applicant may not submit more than one concept paper for Pool 1, one concept paper for Pool 2 and one concept paper for Pool 3.
Application Process
This Request for Applications (RFA) utilizes a two-step process:
- Concept papers are sought from Applicants.
- After merit review by USAID of the concept papers, full applications will be requested from those applicants with the most highly reviewed concept papers. Up to three cooperative agreements may be awarded to the successful applicants.
