The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) in Nepal (USAID/Nepal) is seeking applications to fund a program entitled Suaahara II (Good Nutrition). The goal is to improve the nutritional status of women and children in Nepal. USAID/Nepal anticipates innovative approaches to involve the private sector in Suaahara II to achieve improvements in nutrition, health, and WASH behaviors and food security.
USAID intends to provide up to $65 million in total USAID funding over a five-year period.
The Suaahara II project will be a follow-on to the Suaahara Project (August 2011-August 2016), which has worked in 41 districts in Nepal to deliver nutrition services to women and children, along with water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH); homestead food production (HFP); and maternal, newborn, and child health services, including family planning, in a comprehensive, multi-sectoral approach.
Eligibility criteria
- U.S. or Nepal non-governmental organization (NGO) or a private, non-profit organization (or a for-profit company willing to forego profits) with significant involvement and collaboration of Nepali organizations are eligible.
- USAID welcomes applications from organizations which have not previously received financial assistance from USAID.
Application Process
Applications shall be submitted in two separate parts: (a) Technical Application, and (b) Cost/Business Application. Applications should be sent electronically via email by the deadline.
