USAID is recruiting Professionals for the post of Nutritionist (Grade- GS) at Washington DC US. It is a full time permanent job in the competitive service and the position is in the bargaining unit. This job is only for the candidates who are current USAID employees and including those eligible under the Career Transition Assistance program (CTAP) or under certain Foreign Service. It may be noted that the candidates who do not fulfill eligibility criteria need not to apply.

Required Skills and Experience:
- In order for your application to be considered, you must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement
- You must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-13 level in the Federal service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. Examples of qualifying specialized experience at the next lower level for this position includes: Providing expert advice and designs programs to bring the food security and nutrition monitoring activities to a state-of-the-art technology level. Assists countries in building the technical capacity to implement, monitor and evaluate nutrition programs.
Basic Requirements:
Degree: dietetics, food, nutrition, food service management, institution management, or related science.
Duties: As a Nutritionist, incumbent will provide advisor and technical authority on complex and precedent-setting policy and program issues, develops policies, strategies, and plans for integrating cross-cutting issue concerns in all agriculture and food security nutrition interventions for agency-wide application. Provides specialized expertise to Missions and focus countries in designing and monitoring policies, strategies, and programs in the nutrition area. Develops policy guidelines for national nutrition programs to support child nutrition and health. Provides USAID Missions and focus countries with intellectual leadership and program guidance on addressing cross-cutting issues and assuring their integration in all agriculture and food security programs and projects. Provides technical advice, guidance, and support to Missions and focus countries on technical issues regarding the design, implementation, management, and evaluation of FTF nutrition programs. Plans, develops, and implements program/project development activities that affect broad mission areas in nutrition for the FTF initiative. Activities include working with focus countries to raise the importance of nutrition on the national agenda and implement evidence-based interventions to reach the most vulnerable populations.
