The United States Agency for International Development mission in Benin (USAID/Benin) invites applications from qualified Benin local women non-governmental organization (NGO) networks to implement Community Resilience and Action to Reduce Flood Threats (RAFT) program.
The initial intended duration to conduct program is 2 years.
Eligibility Criteria –
- Qualified Benin local women non-governmental organization (NGO) networks are eligible to apply.
- Applicant must be legally registered in Benin with Benin as the principal place of business.
- Applicant organization must be majority owned by Benin citizens or lawful permanent residents of Benin; or be managed by a governing body majority of whom are Benin citizens or lawful permanent residents of Benin.
- Applicant organization must not be controlled by a foreign entity or an individual or individuals who are not citizens or permanent residents of the recipient country.
- Application must be submitted in English.
- Application must demonstrate a clear understanding of activity objectives, including context of flooding situation in Benin and how it will be affected by climate change.
- Application must demonstrate that the activity will achieve significant demonstratable results and develop a replicable and effective structure for flood preparedness planning and response by working in the selected communities.
- Application must demonstrate that the chosen women’s groups are capable of leading change in their communities.
