United States Agency for International Development(USAID) is accepting applications for Democracy and Governance Program in Paraguay. The purpose of this program is to focus on developing the capacity of and installing accountability mechanisms in the core public institutions necessary for a responsive democracy, focusing on key functions such as civil service, public financial management, and internal controls.
Sub-purpose of this program-
- Increased institutional capacity of select public institutions
- Accountability and anti-corruption efforts strengthened in select public institutions
- Legal and policy framework for effective governance advanced
USAID intends to provide between $23,000,000 to $ 24,750,000.
Eligibility & Criteria-
- USAID has determined that this program will be implemented by a local organization. For-profit organizations (consulting firms, technical assistance providers and other service providing firms) and non-for-profit organizations (NGOs, foundations, universities, and other non-for-profit associations) are eligible to submit applications. Applicants must be-
- for-profit organization-
- be organized under the laws of Paraguay
- have its principal place of business in Paraguay
- be majority beneficially owned by individuals who are citizens or lawful permanent residents of Paraguay
- not-for-profit organization-
- be organized under the laws of Paraguay
- have its principal place of business in Paraguay
- be managed by a governing body, the majority of whom are citizens or lawful permanent residents of Paraguay
- Have been in operation as a local Paraguayan organization for no less than three years immediately preceding the date of application
