The United States Agency for International Development in Southern Africa (USAID/SA) is seeking applications from South African organizations for a rule of law project to benefit the Department of Justice and the Office of the Chief Justice.
The goal of the project is to support the strengthening of democratic governance and accountability in South Africa. Under this grant, USAID intends to provide approximately $1.3 million which is to be allocated over the 3 year period.
Eligibility Criteria
- Any South African non-governmental organizations (NGOs), private voluntary organizations (PVOs), Faith-based and community organizations, and for-profit companies are eligible to apply.
- USAID encourages applications from potential new partners.
- A “local partner” may be an individual or sole proprietorship or a legal entity of any type except for governmental organizations.
- Local partners are not required to have previous experience with USAID.
