The Elton John AIDS Foundation (EJAF) is accepting grant applications for its two kinds of grant programs, Pioneer Grants and Robert Key Memorial Funds. Organizations in eligible countries working in the areas of interest of the grant programs are invited to submit concept notes.
The Elton John AIDS Foundation is an AIDS Charity that funds frontline programs that help to alleviate pain (physical, emotional or financial) of those living with, affected by or at risk of HIV/AIDS, and to continue the fight against AIDS. By now, the Foundation has supported 1,359 projects with total grant award £80 million.
Focus Areas:
- Vulnerable Populations
- Large Scale and Grass Roots Initiatives
Pioneer Grants – support a specific initiative focusing on an individual key population at higher risk within an individual country. The grants can be multi-year and of any amount. Submit Concept Note for Pioneer Grants.
Robert Key Memorial Fund – to organizations that can demonstrate an immediate, tangible benefit for individuals living with HIV. Grants applications can be made for up to £10,000 per for single or multi-year programs. The grant is on a rolling basis and applications are accepted for projects in all 25 countries listed below (in eligibility criteria). Submit Concept Note for EJAF RKMF.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Applicant must be a registered not-for-profit or charitable organization. Individuals are not eligible to apply for the grant.
- For Pioneer Grants, the proposed project must be located in Cameroon, Cote D’Ivoire, Ghana, Kenya, Lesotho, Malawi, Nigeria, South Africa, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia, Zimbabwe, India, Myanmar, Thailand, Russia, Ukraine, and the United Kingdom.
- For Robert Key Memorial fund, the proposed project can be located in any of the following countries in addition to the above mentioned countries – Botswana, Democratic Republic of Congo, Ethiopia, Mozambique, China, Indonesia, and Vietnam.
- To be eligible for Pioneer Grants, the project must have a focus on service delivery, must be catalytic in nature, scalable in design, innovative and able to track changes such as access of condoms, HIV testing and treatment of program beneficiaries.
