Deadline for submission of proposals: 20th December, 2012
Trade and investment between the European Union and Vietnam has been steadily growing, with major EU companies considering the country as a production base, a lucrative and growing market and one of the key gateways to the wider and increasingly-integrated ASEAN market. However, the share of European trade and investment compared to particularly the Asian competitors is slowly falling as SME’s face difficulties to establish a permanent foothold in Vietnam.
The specific objectives of this proposal are:
To strengthen the EU business sector in facilitating market access in Vietnam by advocating and engaging primarily with the Government of Vietnam, the Vietnamese business sector and other stakeholders;
- To promote Vietnam as a high-potential trade and investment market to assure that EU companies, in particular SMEs, are able to better exploit the growing opportunities in Vietnam
- Vietnam as a gateway to the SEA regional market in accordance with their corporate core values on sustainable development and corporate social responsibility
The general objective is to increase and diversify exports and investment of EU business, in particular SMEs, to Vietnam and to ASEAN regional market.
