This is a critical question that many NGOs ask: “How to find Funders?” Because there are hundreds and thousands of foundations providing grants to NGOs, there are also several dozens of issues and causes for which these foundations provide the grants.
In most cases, NGOs fail to get the grants from foundations is because they do not try to find the right foundation for them to give the grants. If your organization is working on human rights, it does not make sense to ask funding from a conservation-focused foundation. Similarly, if you send a proposal on disaster relief to a foundation that commits its funding only for democracy and governance issues, you are most likely to be rejected.
