MEHWAS is social welfare registered not for profit organization and been working since 2001for providing basic facilities of the life to most underdeveloped class from vulnerable section of the society in district Umerkot and Mirpurkhas irrespective of cast, religious, creed, dogmas color and sect.
MEHWA renders its expertise in providing quality education, health facilities to the poorest people from the targeted community
MEHWA is committed to its mission for fighting the rights of poor people in particular those who are deprived in enjoying their rights and are suppressed being called schedule cast by the influential
MEHWA seeks for funding in order to provide and ensure the basic amenities and commodities for poor and disadvantaged communities in its operational areas

MISSION
Mehran Education Health Welfare Association (MEHWA) works on women poverty alleviation through skill enhancement, and improving socio-economic conditions, providing better health and education facilities, gender equity and pollution free environment.
GOAL
Mehran Education Health Welfare Association (MEHWA) wants to establish a network of village and community based organizations in Sindh , enabling them to plan, design and implement their development activities in the rural areas utilizing their own resources, improve their economic condition, create awareness about environment and its improvement.

Carried interventions
1. Establishment of Primary Schools:
The NGO has established 37 Formal School in the remote Areas of District Umerkot Mirpurkhas Badin & Mithey with the financial support of the BLLF There are more than 400 Children who have been enrolled in these schools. These are getting Education in their Respective villages.
2. Establishment of Fe Male Literacy Canter :
The NGO has established 50 Female Literacy Canters in the remote Areas of District Umerkot & Mirpurkhas with the financial support of the NCHD. There are more than 1500 Adults girls who have been enrolled in these Canters. These Adults girls are getting education in their respective villages
3. Micro fiancé Project by Strengthening Participatory Organization
The NGO is implementing the project of micro credit with financial support of the SPO. The loans of Rs. 2000 are being given to the females of the different villagers for goat rearing; the loan is being revolved among the 15 women of the remote areas.
4. Micro fiancé t with the financial support of the LRSD:
The NGO has also been implementing the micro credit project with the financial support of LRSD. Through this activity we had provided the loan to the 35 other poor women of the area for the goat rearing.
5. Hand pumps Project for 15 villages supported by SPO Sindh Office:
The NGO is implementing a hand pumps project for safe drinking water purpose in the 15 villages of District Mirpurkhas with the financial support of the Strengthening Participatory Organization (SPO). Through the project 60-hand pumps have been installed in the poor families.
6. Natural Resource Management Program supported by LRSD:
Through this program the awareness to the Farmers Community is being given at their farms or land regarding NRP and pest management. Description of Experience with funding agencies/ donors: Since establishment of the NGO Mehran Educational Health and Welfare Association and after getting DPM training from SPO Sindh Office we have good experience working with different donors. As learning experience we have learnt a lot in the management, implementation, record keeping, and reporting mechanism from the concerned Donors.
7. The Mehran Educational Health and Welfare Association
MEHWA Has worked for fare election with Fafen & Bahan Bali Observed electoral processes by monitoring polingStation during Election 2008 in UC Aahori And Nabi Sar.
Organization has established one Computer center in the Nabi Sar Road Mithey with the financial support of the BLLF There are more than 100 Children who have been enrolled in these Center .
8. Mehran Education Health and welfare Association with the support of The Asia
Foundation District Mirpurkhas has started Community Mobilization Project for TB. Mobilization started after the Training of volunteer from April 2008. In the beginning, people were avoiding getting treatment of TB, misconception regarding TB is minimized. MEHWA conducted several Community dialogue to create awareness about TB and emphasized on its treatment. In the result of Community Mobilization, people came to know about TB, its symptoms and causes and resultantly rural community has started visiting government hospitals in rural areas for issues related to TB.
