Alliance for a Green Revolution in Africa was founded in 2006 with the support of Rockefeller Foundation and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. The goal of AGRA is to improve the lives of small-holder farmers, especially women. The Foundation is building a platform to empower farmers and provide the backing they need to ensure the continent’s food-security and environmental sustainability.
