The Korea Foundation for Women (KWF) was established in December 1999 by the initiative of women’s organizations and social leaders who shared a firm commitment to bringing about “A New Millennium for Our Daughters”. The foundation envisions a gender-equal society where women´s human rights are secure and the spirit of reciprocity and caring is upheld.
Recently feminist concerns have extended to the grassroots movement, a movement to build more economically, environmentally and socially sustainable and caring communities. KFW has begun to support local communities and grassroots women leaders.
