The Mediterranean Women’s Fund supports women groups in Mediterranean region that are promoting equality with their projects. The Fund aims to improve the condition of women and promote equality between sexes throughout the countries around the Mediterranean by contributing to the development of the women’s movement in the region, at both local and regional levels. The Fund provides the financial or technical means to groups, associations, organizations or individuals who are working towards equality between women and men in the Mediterranean region.

- Capacity-building of women’s organizations
- Regional women’s network
- The struggle against gender-based violence
- Leadership by young women
- Advocacy and actions for women’s rights
Focus Countries: Albania, Algeria, Bosnia And Herzegovina, Croatia, Cyprus, Egypt, France, Israel, Italy, Lebanon, Malta, Montenegro, Morocco, Palestinian Territories, Slovenia, Spain, Syria, Tunisia, Turkey
Eligibility Criteria – To secure grants from Mediterranean Women’s Fund, applicants must be –
- Groups of women working together
- Organizations based in the Mediterranean region
- Organizations that demonstrate a clear commitment to women’s equality and women’s human rights
- Organizations that are governed and directed by women: women must fill all or most of the leadership roles
- Priority is given to groups that –
- Are in the first five years of activity
- Do not have access to institutional funders
- Are based in countries that receive limited financial support
- Raise sensitive issues that are essential to further women’s rights
