Applications are invited from the qualified candidates for the position of Senior Education Specialist at World Bank.High degree of written and spoken fluency in English and Vietnamese is required for the job and the job location is Hanoi, Vietnam.
Duties and Responsibilities :
- Leading and contributing to the identification, preparation and supervision of knowledge and analysis-based lending operations
- Playing a leading role in managing the dialogue with Government and other counterparts on operational and analytical tasks
- Leading and contributing to the World Bank’s analytical and policy work in education in Vietnam
- Preparing and contributing to formal World Bank reports as well as informal technical and policy notes
- Representing the World Bank in the Education Sector Group (ESG), the Government-development partner coordination forum in education
- Mentoring junior staff in the education team
Qualifications and Experience :
- Masters level degree in economics, sociology, public administration or a related field
- At least 8 years of professional experience in education
- In-depth knowledge of the context and challenges for education in Vietnam
- Proven experience in working effectively with government counterparts at leadership and technical levels
- High degree of written and spoken fluency in English and Vietnamese
- Strong communication skills with an emphasis on effective policy writing
- Demonstrated collaborative and team work experience and ability to work with a multicultural and interdisciplinary team
