The US Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs (INL) is calling applications for new grant titled as ‘Drug Prevention and Awareness Programming in Burma’. The objective is to reduce drug use in Burma.
INL will support public education programs that raise awareness of the dangers of drug abuse or provide healthy alternatives to potential drug users as well as programs that meet the needs of people addicted to illicit narcotics. INL seeks proposals for drug prevention programming and awareness activities to build stronger and more resilient communities that are aware of and can counter the dangers of drug use.
Award Information
The anticipated total federal funding amount is $150,000. INL expects to award 1-5 grant agreement(s) based on this opportunity.
Eligibility Information
- U.S. non-profit organization or a U.S. private/state educational institution meeting the provisions described in Internal Revenue Code section 26 USC 501(c) (3) and can demonstrate current country registration in Burma are eligible to apply.
- Applicants must:
- Have demonstrated experience implementing similar education or capacity building programs, preferably in Asia.
- Have existing, or the capacity to develop, active partnerships with stakeholders in order to successfully carry out the proposed program.
- Have demonstrated experience implementing similar education, capacity building, and community development programs, preferably in Burma and preferably with the targeted community (ies) identified in the proposal.
- Have demonstrated experience working with youth, women, and community leaders to implement one or more of the following: youth leadership training, civic education programs, community outreach programs, capacity building, media, social responsibility programs, community police programs.
Application Process
Applicant’s organization must have a current Dun and Bradstreet (DUNS) number as well as a current Central Contractor Registration. In order to apply for a grant, organization must complete the Grants.gov registration process.
