Nominations are open for World of Children Awards 2014. Major objective of the award program is to recognize and elevate those selfless individuals who make a difference in the lives of children here in the USA and across the globe, regardless of political, religious or geographical boundaries. The Award honors these leaders and grants them funds to support the proven, high-impact programs they have created for children.
Awards –
- Health Award – to individual who has made a significant contribution to children in the fields of health, medicine or the sciences. Minimum Grant $50,000.
- Humanitarian Award – to individual who has made a significant contribution to children in the areas of social services, education or humanitarian services. Minimum Grant $50,000.
- Youth Award – to youth that are making extraordinary contributions to the lives of other children. Minimum Grant $25,000.
Eligibility Criteria –
- Nominee can be from anywhere around the globe. Nominee must have full knowledge that s/he is being nominated for the award. It is recommended that nominee and the related organization assist nominator in completing the nomination form.
- For Humanitarian Award, nominee must have created, managed or otherwise supported a sustainable program which has significantly contributed to children’s opportunities to be safe, to learn and to grow – for minimum 10 years.
- For Health Award, nominee must have created, managed or otherwise supported a sustainable program which has significantly contributed to the improved health of children.
- For humanitarian and health awards, nominee must be doing the work for a minimum of 10 years over and above their normal employment, OR work for little or no pay.
- For Youth Award, nominee must be under the age of 21 and must be doing this work for three years by the deadline.
- Nominee must have an existing non-profit organization in good standing. The organization must be able to receive grant funds if awarded.
- Work designed to specifically advance any one religion or political position are not accepted.
- Individuals submitted for multiple categories will be disqualified.
Nominees must be available to participate in the Annual Award Ceremonies held in New York City, USA on 6 November 2014.
