The third section of the project (for UNAOC’s Youth Solidarity Fund) should cover the overview of the project, which includes the project title, the timeframe, the location and the total amount requested. This is like the executive summary of the project and ideally it should not be more than one page so that the reader can quickly grasp the underlying concept and methodology of the project.
YSF suggests that your project title should be not more than 5 or 6 words in length. Try to develop an imaginative name for the title as it not helps in the selection process but also in promoting your project once it gets selected. The title should also be self-descriptive trying to highlight the concept and methodology of your project.
Some previous examples includes “Youth Can Do”, “Stronger Together: Promoting a Cohesive Youth Community”, “Youth Meeting Point”, “Tolerance Academy”, “United Despite Diversity” etc.
Under the Timeframe, you can mention that your project will run for so many number of months mentioning the starting and ending date. Remember that YSF does not sanction projects that are more than 8 months.
Since 8 months can be a short duration for any project, you can also propose a project that can be a component of another larger project and request additional funding for implementing the youth-focused activities. Projects that have core funding available have better chances of success with many donors. So if you have a larger project currently implemented by your organization, you can request YSF to fund its youth component.
You need to also mention the location (city and country) where the project is implemented. YSF supports NGOs in select countries only. So please make sure that your country is included in it.
In the last part of this section, you can mention the overall budget amount (in US Dollars) you expect from YSF. YSF’s maximum grant per organization is not more than US $25,000.
