UN WOMEN Pakistan is the agency of United Nations dedicated for gender equality and women empowerment in Pakistan. The agency works to support and strengthen the efficiency and quality of outputs of the UN mission on gender equality. The agency with the help of its links with the women’s movement across the world supports the government for fulfilling gender equality commitments in line with Beijing Platform for Action, CEDAW, Millennium Declaration and the Millennium Development Goals.
Photo Contest
UN Women is inviting amateur and professional photographer to participate in the national photo contest titled ‘The Many Faces of Pakistan’ .
About the Content
This content is an opportunity to amateur and professional photographers to show their works on the Inspirational Faces of People across Pakistan from all sectors of society, including the poorest and disadvantaged, and from the urban, rural and the remotest areas of the country.
The photos should:
– Portray men, women, girls and boys individually and/or in groups from all walks of life
– Illustrate the various lifestyles of the People of Pakistan in their homes, at their work and while they are doing extra-circular activities
– Reflect living in Urban, Rural and/or the Remote areas of Pakistan
Rules of the Contest
– E-mail photos in JPEG format – 8×10 (landscape size of 2400×3000), 300ppi (pixels per inch) / 8×10 (portrait size of 3000×24000, 300ppi (pixels per inch)
-> Be sure to title the e-mail entry “Faces – Photo Contest Entry”
-> Include your name, age and contact telephone number – up to 10 entries per person
-> Include the title of each photo you have submitted
– The photos submitted must –
-> Be in colour and/or black and white
-> Focus on People (men, women, girls and boys individually and/or in groups) from all walks of life
-> Capture Lifestyles of Pakistanis at home, at work and while they are doing extra-circular activities
-> Be original photographs created by you
– The selected photos will be used in UN WOMEN Pakistan publications and other advocacy materials
– Reproduction rights will remain with UN WOMEN Pakistan
– An exhibit featuring the winning photos will be held in Islamabad
– There are no cash rewards or prizes, however the winners name will be duly recognized against their photo(s) in publications and advocacy materials
– Derogatory and pornographic photos are NOT allowed
