Counterpart International (CPI) Armenia is currently inviting legally registered and operating Armenian non-profit public organizations, educational institutions and other organizations to submit grant proposals on designing and delivering training sessions for local governments in Armenia. Groups of organizations are also encouraged to submit proposals for the grant.
CPI Armenia is the organization dedicated for the empowerment of people and communities in Armenia. CPI Armenia aims to find and implement innovative solutions for different social, economic, and environmental challenges faced by the people of Armenia.
The current project will be implemented in the framework of a four-year Civil Society and Local Government Support Program (CSLGSP) – a United States Agency for International Development (USAID) funded project, which aims to increase the level of informed and organized civic activism at the local and national levels, along with more participatory, decentralized, efficient and accountable local governance that leads to a more democratic society.
Program Goals
The goal of the project is to design training modules and deliver training sessions for local government bodies. The methodology of training sessions is expected to be learner-centred, assuring active participation of the trainees. This approach will enable participants to develop appropriate skills during the trainings and ensure their applicability in the workplace. The key target groups for capacity development trainings will be representatives from 43 urban and rural municipalities from all marzes of Armenia.
Tasks
- Design of Orientation Session Module for Community Councils
- Design of Training Modules on Local Government Functional Areas
- Design of Computer Training Module
- Development and Delivery of a ToT Session
- Delivery of a Pilot Orientation Session for Community Council Members
- Delivery of Pilot Training Sessions on Local Government and Computer Skills
Eligibility Requirements
Applicant organization(s) must meet the following criteria to be eligible for the grant:
- Experience in the field of Local Government;
- Experience in building capacity of local government bodies;
- Experience in designing training modules on topics related to local governments, computer skills and for ToT sessions;
- Track record of coaching and one-on-one consultations;
- Ability to think strategically beyond training methodology and delivery;
- Experience in delivering concurrent training sessions in a multitude of venues;
- Experience in managing large-scale, intense programs across the country;
- Technical knowledge within the organization(s) in terms of monitoring and evaluation;
- Experience in managing a large number of temporary or contract staff.
