The Swedish Institute Young Leaders Visitors Program has issued a call for applications for the Young Leaders Visitors Program 2012. If you are a leader with a vision and want to make change, you can apply for this leadership program.
This is an intercultural leadership program that aims to lay a foundation for dialogue, mutual understanding and knowledge sharing among young leaders from the Middle East, North Africa and Sweden. The program invites young leaders from Sweden and the MENA region (Algeria, Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, Libya, Morocco, Syria, Tunisia, West Bank-Gaza and Yemen) who are actively working for social change in their respective contexts. The program combines intercultural leadership training with theory and practice in the fields of transparency, democracy and human rights. Cutting-edge social media solutions are used throughout the program, as tools for learning and for building networks that promote dialogue, knowledge sharing and openness.
The first phase of the program will take place in Sweden during three weeks in May/June, followed by a second module in the MENA region in November.
Who can apply?
Young (20-32 years old), dynamic and open-minded leaders from Algeria, Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, Libya, Morocco, Syria, Tunisia, West Bank-Gaza, Yemen and Sweden working actively for democracy and human rights: project managers, youth leaders, youth politicians, government civil servants, lawyers, journalists/bloggers, activists and cultural workers. The program will be held in English: proficient command of both written and spoken English is therefore a requirement.
Deadline for applications: December 14, 2012
