Deadline- March 6, 2013
USAID India is pleased to offer funding opportunity for the program entitled “Improved Agricultural Productivity in African FTF Countries through Sharing of Indian Agriculture Innovations”. The purpose of this Annual Program Statement (APS) is to invite applicants to propose the sharing of proven Indian agriculture innovations in Kenya, Liberia, and Malawi, which are the USAID Feed the Future focus countries in Africa.
This program directly supports USAID/India’s objective of sharing Indian agriculture innovations with Kenya, Liberia and Malawi. USAID/India defines innovation as new business or organizational models; operational or production processes; or products or services that provide solutions to development challenges leading to substantial improvements (for example three to ten times). These innovations help deliver development outcomes more effectively, cheaply, and sustainably. This program will specifically target food security challenges identified in the FTF Multi-Year Strategies of Kenya, Liberia, and Malawi. The approach will respond to the demand for rather than the supply of solutions. Thus, the India-Africa Agriculture Innovation Bridge will build on the focus value chain priorities within focus regions in Kenya, Liberia, and Malawi.
USAID India intends to provide up to a total of $6.012 million to successful applicants. Approximately two to four cooperative agreements and/or grants of $2 million each or less may be awarded against this APS. All awards will be made on a competitive basis. USAID reserves the right to make no awards against this APS.
