The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) is accepting applications for Civil Society Sustainability Project (CSSP) in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The missions of this project is to strengthen and sustain the capacity of civil society to influence and oversee development and implementation of government policy-making processes.
USAID will award a cooperative agreement with an estimated value of $8,850,000.
This project will address five challenges, as follows-
- Lack of government engagement with civil society
- Inability of CSOs to influence public discourse
- Lack of professionalism of CSOs
- Sustainability of the civil society sector
- Lack of reliable and unbiased information
Eligibility & Criteria-
- Local organizations can apply individually and/or in consortium/partnerships with other local organization(s).
- Applicants may propose contracting out international and/or local advisors or partnering with other local organizations for services for which Applicants lack capacity or expertise.
- Besides the standard language of respecting gender equality and promoting women’s empowerment, the Applicants will-
- identify specific gender issues related to the proposed activities
- demonstrate how gender equality and women empowerment will be integrated throughout the life of the project as core development objectives
- demonstrate how the project will promote increased women’s participation in decision-making processes and protect women’s social and economic rights
