Introduction to the Organisation
Society For Resource Integration and Development Action (SRIDA) which is a non-profit registered voluntary organization working with deprived and under privileged communities especially tribes i.e.” Gond , Baigas and Kole” in Central India. SRIDA through its developmental initiatives, is trying to change in life’s of for their own survival and creates ways for their subsistence through livelihood security.
SRIDA’s vision is to enable the vulnerable and marginalized communities moving towards sustainable livelihood, empowered social orders, working for equal opportunities and gender equality.
The organisation’s goal is to optimize the benefits of the natural resources and human endowments in the identified areas on an ecologically sustainable basis and also providing contextually appropriate technology for the economically and socially disadvantaged sections of the focused population with their optimum participation.
The organization through its various interventions with the poverty stricken communities has the opportunity to work with State Government, Central Government and few international agencies. Thus, SRIDA has outreached to more than 125 villages in Mandla, Dindori, Seoni and Jabalpur districts of Madhya Pradesh in Central India.
Development Initiatives:
Women Empowerment : Safe Motherhood, Capacity Building, Gender Sensitisation, Adolescent Health, Legal Support and Income Generation Activities through formation of Self Help Groups
Poverty Alleviation: Livelihood Promotion, Natural Resource Management, Water Resource Development & Management, Agriculture Extension, Micro Finance & Micro Credit, Organic Farming, Horticulture & Afforestation, Employment Generation Activity.
Governance: Trainings and Capacity Building, Social Actions, Advocacy.
Health: Health Education, Reproductive Child Health Care, Adolescent Health, Community level Health Awareness.
Organisation Strength:
The organization strength in development initiatives lies in two major sectors i.e. livelihood promotion and poverty eradication. The organization is strengthened with dedicated workers from different educational backgrounds i.e. Regional Planning, Development Planning, Medical Sciences, Veterinary Sciences, Social Science, Agriculture Sciences etc. But the strength lies in the expert’s panel of the organization wherein, experts are giving their guidance and sharing their immense experiences in their respective fields. These experts are from Medical Sciences, Agriculture Sciences, Agriculture Engineering, Veterinary Sciences, Forestry & Food Science Technology etc. Their support is valuable and incomparisable to the organization.
In the second layer, the organization has the team of village level workers, who are actively involved in their community are strengthened with the knowledge and their capacities are enhanced. The organization is having field level workers in different projects and is catering to different issues. Here the women are given equal opportunity in the organization…
