The International Finance Corporation (IFC) is currently accepting applications from the eligible applicants for the post of IT Officer, Solution Architect, based in Washington DC, USA.
IFC is comprised of three operational areas: Investment operations, Advisory Services and IFC Asset Management Company. IFC Investment operations continue to develop new financial products that enable companies to manage risk and broaden their access to foreign and domestic capital markets.
Key Job Responsibilities
The IT Officer will perform the following functions-
- Identifies user requirements, implements data integration, data management, set up databases, and test and coordinate modifications to the systems.
- Maintains a consistent view of enterprise data definitions and vocabularies to ensure consistency in process and quality.
- May publish data models and supporting documentation to make data models available to project teams and ITS groups.
- Understands architectural issues, and factors them into decisions and recommendations.
- Develops and recommends architecture framework based on the logical data model for operational stores, data marts, and content management stores.
- Promotes the reuse of existing data objects and entities across the enterprise to reduce cost and meet business requirements.
- Applies standards for data quality and serves as data steward.
- Captures and documents business rules.
- Drives consistent standards for data management, and analysis tools and techniques to advise on the applications development process and to ensure compliance requirements are met for both structured and unstructured data.
- Provides technical guidance and mentorship to team members.
- Significantly contributes to data integration for large and/or complex projects, processes or services that have impact across multiple areas of the organization, such as across multiple functions, processes, services, etc.
- Contributes subject matter expertise and serves as a technical resource for other professionals in their field.
- Provides direction to staff and contractors in their area of expertise.
- Responsible for managing performance of team members.
- Translates enterprise or business requirements into long-term solution, information/data architecture solutions, including conceptual, logical and physical models.
- Analyzes and defines enterprise master data management strategies and models
- Expert in Service Oriented Architecture
- Implements and promotes governance processes for information and metadata to ensure establishment of a common language and the ongoing accuracy, validity, and reuse of metadata
- Architects and designs data virtualization and data abstraction solutions, leads the related implementation efforts.
- Defines and maintains best practice guidelines and standards for data, metadata, data modeling, and management
- Provides best practice leadership to database administrators and application developers
- Documents technology roadmaps and the transition from the current architectural framework to target data architecture of the future
- Serves as point of escalation, review, and approval for key issues, significant projects, and decisions
- Collaborates with business analysts and project managers on a wide range of technology projects, including software development, package implementations, and infrastructure upgrades/changes
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must have-
- Master’s degree with 5 years relevant experience or Bachelors Degree with a minimum of 7 years relevant experience.
- Proficient knowledge of service oriented architecture towards data/information as a service concept.
- Advanced knowledge of data warehousing
- Advanced skills with the Microsoft/ Oracle Data Management and Business Intelligence platform and tools.
- Knowledge on ETL.
- Prior experience with large transactional distributed applications
- Advanced knowledge of strategies for data integration. Advanced skills with at least one leading data modeling CASE tool such as Embarcadero ER Studio, ERWin, UML Tools.
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to interface and influence at all levels in the organization
- Must be a self-motivated, results oriented team player who pays close attention to details, ensures accuracy, and exceeds efficiency standards
- Open individual with an enthusiastic outlook, promoting confidence and credibility to peers and project stakeholders
- Flexible and adaptable, with a positive attitude when operating in an environment of continual flux
