The International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs Section (INL) of the U.S Embassy in Tbilisi, Georgia have announced an open competition for assistance awards through this Request for Proposals (RFP) for the program titled “Combating Gender Based Violence in Georgia”.
The objective of the award is to design and implement a project in support of the victims of GBV in Georgia, in close cooperation with the RLA program.
The project must consist of two main components:
- Building the capacity of the VWCA, and
- Improving the existing legislative framework to better address GBV.
Grant Information
A total of $207,000 is available for this grant program.
Work Areas
- organizeand facilitate assessment visits, U.S. study visits, and in-country trainings and workshops;
- conduct a research and comparative analysis of the domestic legislation and international requirements in regard to GBV crimes;
- develop educational and advocacy materials focused on combating GBV and identifying victim services.
Priorities
The organizations must have:
- a demonstrated commitment to the justice sector reforms and human rights -preferablyon GBV issues;
- experience and ability to cooperate with state and private agencies;
- the ability to conduct comparative research;
- experience and the capacity to organize professional events, facilitate participation of multiple players, make travel arrangements, and organize procurements effectively;
- ability to manage funds effectively.
Eligibility Criteria
Georgian non-profit/non-governmental organizations are eligible to apply for the grants.
