The World Food Programme (WFP) is currently seeking applications from the eligible applicants for the post of Capability Development Specialist, based in Rome, Italy.
WFP is the world’s largest humanitarian agency fighting hunger worldwide.
Key Job Responsibilities
The Capability Development Specialist will perform the following functions-
- Partner with stakeholders across the organization to implement an organizational capability building strategy based on capabilities identified to achieve WFP’s strategic objectives;
- Advise functional subject-matter expert colleagues on effectively and efficiently design and develop their (blended) learning solutions;
- Manage the WFP learning community: sharing external best practices, and leveraging and repurposing internal best practices;
- Map Learning solutions on Core Capability model;
- Design, develop and deliver blended learning journeys for the geographically dispersed staff, applying the 70-20-10 model;
- Support Learning measurement – phase 1;
- Vendor management and collaboration;
- Coordinating team members.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must have-
- University degree in Human Resources Management or Instructional Design, or related field of study;
- A minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in capability development and learning and development in global organizations with instructional design expertise with a 70-20-10 learning approach;
- Expert in using different learning modalities and organizational development methodologies (e.g. action/experiential learning, blended solutions, university programs, learning needs analysis, learning journey design and development);
- Knowledgeable of the different learning technologies and open / free online learning resources and experience with Success Factors LMS is preferred;
- A successful track record of implementing change efforts in a global organization with widely decentralized workforce;
- Excellent interpersonal skills to collaborate and influence internally with various stakeholders and subject matter experts, driven by internal customer success. Ability to interact effectively with stakeholders across business functions, levels and geographical areas;
- Proven track record of successfully working with vendors and independent trainers;
- Strong creative problems solving skills; agile, flexible and patient; ability to work with ambiguity, constructive approach to overcoming challenges and build consensus across diverse and global teams;
- Fluency in oral and written English is required;
- Proficiency in another WFP working language (Arabic, French or Spanish) would be desirable.
