Save the Children is currently seeking applications from the eligible applicants for the post of Regional Logistics Manager in Nairobi, Kenya. The duration for the post is of 6 months.
The Regional Roving Logistics Manager will assist the East Africa Region Head of Logistics to improve the capacity and performance of logistics staff / teams in SCI country offices within the region by working with the Country office logistics teams on a need basis.

Key Jobs Responsibilities
The Regional Logistics Manager will perform the following functions-
- Carrying out Fleet analysis and support CO Heads of Logistics to manage the fleet properly.
- Support Country offices in establishing Framework agreements and Supplier databases.
- Support selected country offices in implementation of Supply Chain Management Plans.
- Carrying out Logistics compliance and capacity assessments.
- Monitoring logistics performance through reviewing monthly logistics reports for selected Country Offices.
- Helping country office logistics teams implement their outstanding Logistics related audit recommendations.
- Assisting Country office Logistics teams mount rapid and effective emergency response operations – when disasters occur.
- Preparing country office visit reports and following up for implementation of recommendations.

Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must have-
- A Degree in Supply Chain/ Logistics or related area.
- At least 3 years logistics management level experience in logistics in the NGO sector, within complex/large scale country programmes and in emergency response/humanitarian environments.
- 1 – 2 years international experience is must. Experience at Regional Logistics management level a strong advantage.
- Proven experience in all technical areas of logistics operations including procurement, transport/distribution, warehousing and stock management, fleet management, asset management, communications, and security.
- Experience of working in remote field bases with limited infrastructure.
- Experience working with large institutional donors and knowledge of their rules and regulations.
- Ability to synthesize and analyze information, and make clear, informed decisions.
- Ability to build relationships quickly with a wide range of people, both internally and externally.
- Experience in developing the capacity of logistics staff through the use of training, performance management frameworks and development plans.
- Excellent written and spoken communication and interpersonal skills.
- Cross-cultural experience, understanding and sensitivity.
- Willingness and ability to travel extensively within the East and Southern Africa region.

- Experience in developing Emergency Preparedness Plans and Disaster Risk Reduction activities.
- Experience in developing and carrying out staff training programmes.
- Experience in technical programme support in areas of construction, distribution, medical supply chain, water and sanitation.
- Previous experience working for Save the Children International or members.
- Membership of Professional body in Logistics.
- Fluent in Portuguese, Amharic, Swahili or Arabic.
