FHI 360 is currently seeking applications from the eligible applicants for the post of Project Director II in, Bujumbura, Burundi.
The Project Director will ensure the achievement of high quality results by FHI 360, its subcontractors, and its sub grantees.

Key Jobs Responsibilities
The Project Director II will perform the following functions-
- Leads and directs the development and implementation process for company projects involving departmental or cross -functional teams focused on the delivery of new or existing projects.
- Plans and directs project schedules and monitors budget/spending.
- Monitors the project/program from initiation through delivery. Organizes project(s) activities ensuring completion of the project on schedule and within budget constraints.
- Selects, develops and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function.
- Plans, directs, and coordinates activities for designated projects to ensure that goals and objectives are accomplished within prescribed time frame and funding parameters.
- Reviews project proposals and plans to determine scheduling, budget, procedures, staffing, and allotment of resources needed for projects.
- Establishes work plans, project teams, and SOPs to meet project goals and ensure compliance with policies.
- Develops proposals and researches sources for funding projects.
- Provides guidance and training to managers and staff to achieve project goals.
- Participates in the strategic development of methods and techniques with executive management.
- Establishes, serves and maintains partnerships with internal and external stakeholders on project matters.
- Provide leadership to the project team, ensuring clarity over plans and priorities, encouraging effective team-work.
- Responsible for induction of project staff, ensuring their familiarity with mandate values, quality standards, policies and program objectives and their individual responsibilities in upholding these standards and policies.
- Determination of job level is based on combination of primary and secondary criteria (i.e. Revenue, Headcount, and number of Contracts/Sub- Awards and other factors).
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must have-
- BS/BA and minimum 8 years relevant experience with international development programs and includes 3-5 years of supervisory experience.
- Overseas field experience required; MS/MA, Proficiency in French and English required Expats/TCNs and HCNs are eligible to apply.
- Experience in designing, managing, and monitoring complex, multi-partner public health/international development programs – at community-level, using host-country mechanisms, and/or in sub-Saharan Africa desired.
- Experience in organizational development and proven skills in building organizational capacity in health service delivery programs and use of hose country mechanisms.
- Familiarity with contracts and compliance issues, and in-depth knowledge of USAID regulations, systems and procedures for managing complex programs with many sites and partners.
- Demonstrated ability to establish and sustain interpersonal and professional relationships with the USAID Mission, international PVOs and local CBOs.
- Knowledge of strategic planning, administrative, and financial management systems, including contractual matters as appropriate.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to travel within country or region and internationally if needed.
- Manages project specific budget and pipeline.
- Routine coordination with appropriate FHI 360 employees, on-site and in the field.
