International Finance Corporation (IFC) is currently seeking applications from the eligible applicants for the post of Associate Investment Officer/Investment Officer in Sao Paulo, Brazil. The duration for the post is of 3 years.
The Associate Investment Officer/Investment Officer will lead and support project teams in implementing IFC’s investment strategy, managing relationships with clients, spearheading business development activities.

Key Jobs Responsibilities
The Associate Investment Officer/Investment Officer will perform the following functions-
- Conduct industry, market and company research to identify and screen business opportunities across infrastructure sub-sectors.
- Prepare and/or oversee the production of IFC investment marketing materials and pitch books.
- Develop a strong pipeline of profitable and sustainable IFC debt and equity investments.
- Screen investment opportunities and prepare and present preliminary investment proposals for discussion with IFC management.
- Analyze operational and financial performance of potential client companies to identify opportunities, evaluate the benefits and risks of new transactions, and develop innovative and appropriate financial structures.
- Lead/support transaction teams in all aspects of IFC’s investment processing cycle for debt and equity transactions, including due diligence, structuring, negotiation, documentation, and disbursement of investment transactions.
- Coordinate with social, environmental, legal and technical/sector specialists to add value to clients’ businesses, find pragmatic solutions to specific sector challenges, and achieve sustainable development impact.
- Actively monitor and manage an assigned portfolio of debt and equity investments; including preparation of periodic credit assessment and investment performance reports, valuation analysis, tracking compliance with investment agreements, processing of potential restructuring, rescheduling, capital increases, and/or waivers and consents, and making recommendations with respect to equity strategy and potential sales.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must have-
- MBA or equivalent educational qualification.
- At least 5 years of prior work experience with proven track-record of sourcing, structuring and closing debt and/or equity investments.
- Relevant working experience in infrastructure financing is strongly desirable.
- Relevant prior experience in Brazil strongly preferred; existing infrastructure client and co-investor network/relationships in Brazil would be a plus.
- Strong financial and credit skills; demonstrated ability to structure a variety of financial instruments.
- Prior experience in equity analysis, structuring and/or research strongly desirable.
- Strong business development and client relationship skills and ability to focus on clients’ needs effectively.
- Ability to think independently, analyzes problems, identify and take lead on defining appropriate solutions.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills with proven ability to deliver high-quality results with high level of accuracy and attention to detail and meet tight deadlines.
- Outstanding interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in a diverse, multicultural team-oriented environment.
- Highly motivated, committed to highest ethical standards.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in English and Portuguese are required.
