The International Finance Corporation (IFC) is currently seeking applications from the eligible applicants for the post of Operations Officer, based in Sydney, Australia.

Key Job Responsibilities
The Operations Officer will perform the following functions-
- Work closely with the Regional Gender Advisor to develop and deliver women’s employment advisory services to IFC clients and pipeline clients in the region. Contribute to data collection and analysis with clients, leading on key project components. Draft key project documents including pitch books, Project Service Agreements; client reports and recommendations. Develop pipeline of clients for further women’s employment advisory engagements.
- Technical support and advice to the PNG Business Coalition for Women, particularly with regard to the following objectives, working with the respective company-led Working Groups to define priorities, review outputs and effectively brings new products to market: a. Addressing Violence; b. Promoting Gender-Smart Policies and Practices.
- Improving Opportunities for Women Owned Businesses in Supply Chains and Distribution Networks; and d. Promoting Women’s Leadership Development.
- Build capacity and provide operational support to the Business Coalition for Women secretariat, especially in the following areas: a. Coaching incoming local staff of the Coalition Secretariat to ensure effective operations as IFC hands over day to day responsibilities.
- Contribute to expansion of IFC gender program in the Pacific, particularly in Solomon Islands, East Timor and Fiji. This could include:
- Recruit and maintain relationships with project clients, building commitment to the project and ensuring that their needs are met.
- Take initiative as opportunities to improve the project arise; propose innovative solutions and pro-actively manage challenges to delivery.
- Conduct at least bi-annual reporting against project milestones and assessment of results, lessons, challenges, and risks/risk management, refocusing activities as required to meet program targets in coordination with other IFC stakeholders including the global and regional product specialists.
- Travel as necessary within the Pacific Islands and occasionally within the EAP region; provide support to project leaders who want to integrate gender into their projects; and undertake ad-hoc tasks assigned by the Regional Gender Specialist.
- Work with Regional Gender Specialist and Communications Officer to develop communications and influencing strategy to promote the project
- Represent IFC to stakeholders such as industry bodies, donor partners, academic institutions, NGOs, etc. Participate in relevant meetings and conferences.
- Actively contribute to communications and reporting required by IFC and donor partners according to IFC standards and guidelines.
- Maintain excellent relationships with donor partners and related active gender initiatives, including governments of New Zealand and Australia.
- Provide day to day budget oversight; report on financial performance according to plan
- Control expenditures according to IFC policies and guidelines and within approval thresholds
- Keep abreast of industry and development changes to ensure that IFC advisory services continuously benefit from emerging best practices. Ensure that international good practices are included in developing and implementing the project.
- Systematically consolidate and analyze lessons learned from project implementation experience and share with team members and colleagues globally and across the region.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must have-
- Master’s degree with 5 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Work experience in an emerging market environment required, experience in Papua New Guinea or other countries of the Pacific is desirable
- Strong theoretical base in gender and the private sector and ability to translate theory into practical applications in context of IFC Advisory projects
- Ability to participate in multi-disciplinary teams
- Ability to communicate ideas clearly, articulate issues and recommend solutions
- Excellent communication skills in English
- Willingness to travel regularly within the Pacific
