Established in 1990, Al Ghad was registered with the Lebanese Ministry of Interior in 2006. Al Ghad mission is to empower youth, the disadvantaged element of the refugee community, with the tools necessary to face marginalization and isolation in order to be integrated and play a participatory and effective role within their community at all levels. Al Ghad beneficiaries are 6-14 years old children, and youth between 14-21 year old. Al Ghad Objectives:
•Improving the quality of education and reducing the rate of school drop out among youth and teenagers.
• Improving the psychosocial conditions of youth and teenagers and secure safe places for them to express themselves.
• Disseminating the concept of gender-based equality among youth and teenagers.
• Educating youth and acquiring them knowledge on the concept of democracy and secularism in facing marginalization and conservative environment.
• Advocating for youth rights.
Al Ghad Activitis:
• Educational on:
– IT and vocational skills in computer, documentary films, etc
– Popular education that provides literacy, tutorial and language classes for youth and children.
– Knowledge and information on human rights, discrimination, violence, participation, conflict resolution and dialogue.
• Psychosocial support program
• Cultural program that aims to improve youth skills in art, music, and Palestinian heritage.
• Advocacy activities on youth rights.
Al Ghad is a member of the Palestinian advocacy committee of Palestinian NGOs working in Nahr El Bared camp.
Al Ghad received funds from NPA (Norwegian People’s Aid) in Lebanon,
UNICEF, as Youth organization, before getting the license.
Canada Fund for Local Initiative, as youth organization, before getting the license.
