Established in 2000, the Center for the Implementation of Public Policies Promoting Equity and Growth (CIPPEC) is a non-profit organization working for the betterment of quality of life of Argentine citizens. The vision of CIPPEC is to create an efficient, democratic and developed State in Argentina. CIPPEC strives for an active civil society in the country and implements a number of programs in order to achieve this objective.
CIPPEC is currently seeking applications for the scholarships for participation in the third edition of the On-line training on “How to build a policy influence plan”. The training will be offered under the program “Spaces for Engagement: Using Knowledge to improve pro poor public policy” that is a GDNet initiative and is being implemented in Latin America by CIPPEC. There are 12 scholarships to be awarded for the training program that will be launched by the end of August 2011.
Course Objectives
By the end of the course, it is hoped that the participants will be able to use the tools and knowledge acquired to help them design effective advocacy strategies, be able to monitor and evaluate them as well as promote internal change within their organizations
About the Course
This online course responds to the necessity of improving organizational capacity to influence public policies in developing countries. Through an effective combination of theoretical modules and practical exercises, the course aims at helping participants improve their policy influence planning capacity by providing them with concrete tools to analyze context threats and opportunities, key stakeholders and their power/interests, and define feasible policy influence goals. It also shares lessons learned about innovative and diversified strategies and activities used by researchers and policy research institutions to inform policymaking with the evidence they produce. The course will also seek to facilitate debate and exchange among participants and instructors.
Through this call, GDNet and CIPPEC will support the participation of those who wish to expand their skills and knowledge to plan and implement public policy influence strategies.
