The Public Health Foundation of India (PHFI) is accepting applications for admission to various Post Graduate Diploma programmes related to public health offered through various Indian Institutes of Public Health (IIPH) in the academic year 2011-12.
The IIPHs at Delhi, Gandhinagar and Hyderabad offer these Post Graduate Diploma programmes to fresh graduates as well as mid-career professionals, who aim at improving the public health delivery system in India. Each IIPH is in close association with the state governments and also plans to conduct research relevant to the State and surrounding regions, so as to contribute to overall national health goals.
At the moment following Post Graduate Diplomas are being offered at the IIPHs.
1. Post Graduate Diploma in Public Health Management (PGDPHM)
2. Post Graduate Diploma in Health Economics, Health Care Financing & Health Policy (PGDHEP)
3. Post Graduate Diploma in Clinical Research (PGDCR)
4. Post Graduate Diploma in Biostatistics and Data Management (PGDBDM)
Aims
The aim of these programmes at each IIPH is to make education and research activities relevant to India in content and context, while attaining standards which are qualitatively comparable with the best in the world. By developing an understanding and broad appreciation of the multiple determinants of health (especially social determinants) and imparting skill sets needed for designing and implementing a broad range of multi-sectoral actions required to advance public health, PHFI and the IIPHs shall enhance the nature and opportunities for improved health care through these institutions.
