Participants are invited from eligible nations for Training in Risk Management, Finance/Banking program in Africa. The training programme consists of five phases. Location of this program will be Stockholm ,Sweden( Part I) and Cape Town, South Africa(Part II). Teams of change agents from one country will work together on a defined change initiative. The training programme will engage the change agents during approximately 14 months, of which approximately 4,5 weeks are educational (3 weeks in Stockholm, Sweden and 10 days in one of the participants’ countries).
The programme will be implemented using highly interactive methods; lectures, workshops, discussions, group exercises, presentations of case studies and study visits to banks and other financial institutions. In addition, guided group discussions
Objective of this training is to contribute to the long term development capacity for reforms and change processes in the financial sectors in targeted countries by enhancing the participants’ understanding for-
- the correlation between economic growth, openness and poverty reduction
- the financial sector as an indispensable part of the economical infrastructure
- the important impact financial markets have on public finances
Eligibility & Criteria-
This programme is open to candidates employed by established institutions. Candidates should fit at least one of the following profiles-
- Managers with responsibility for business development, credit granting, administration, trading and/or investing.
- Lawyers within banks, financial institutions, pension funds, microfinance, supervisory authorities et.c.
- Managers with responsibility for the procurement of analytical tools for risk management within private and public sector financial institutions
- “High potentials” from financial institutions, universities or other institutions of importance to the financial sector
- Decision makers or other individuals with responsibilities, ambition and mandate to drive the development and change initiative.
