Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR, also called corporate conscience, corporate citizenship, social performance, or sustainable responsible business/ Responsible Business) refers to companies taking responsibility for their impact on society.

Over the past decade CSR has grown to become a significant player in the philanthropy market. Companies big and small from around the world are increasingly devoting funds, employees time and other forms of charitable support to causes they believe in. We’ve assembled ten of the very best companies that supply grants to NGOs around the world.

1. BMW

As one of the world’s largest companies, BMW believe that the Group has a duty of social responsibility. To support this, BMW provide funding for charitable programs that seek to benefit society. The organization’s highest consideration to those that focus on education, road safety and the environment.

2. American Express

American Express Corporate Social Responsibility makes grants in three major program areas: Leadership, Historic Preservation and Community Service. This includes the American Express Foundation, American Express Charitable Fund and certain corporate gifts. In 2011, contributions totaled $27.8 million.

3. Pfizer

Pfizer is striving to adapt to the evolving needs of society and contribute to the overall health and wellness of the world. 4. W.K Kellogg Foundation

The W.K. Kellogg Foundation (WKKF), founded in 1930 as an independent, private foundation by breakfast cereal pioneer Will Keith Kellogg, is among the largest philanthropic foundations in the United States. Guided by the belief that all children should have an equal opportunity to thrive, WKKF works with communities to create conditions for vulnerable children so they can realize their full potential in school, work and life.

The Foundation focus areas for grants are Educated Kids, Healthy Kids, Secure Families,  Racial Equity add Civic Engagement. The foundation provides  grants in United States,  Michigan, Mississippi, New Mexico, Latin America,  Caribbean, Southern Africa  and England.

5. CISCO

Cisco and the Cisco Foundation provide cash, products, and people to support organizations with scalable, replicable, and sustainable solutions that use Internet and network technology to benefit individuals and communities around the world. Cisco social investments reduce hunger, increase access to education and technology, empower people living in poverty to get jobs and start their own businesses, and restore critical services for disaster victims.
