Background and Rationale
Women play a critical role in agriculture, yet they face barriers in accessing land, finance, markets, technology, and decision-making platforms. According to the Food and Agriculture Organization, closing the gender gap in agriculture could significantly increase farm productivity and reduce global hunger.
The World Bank also highlights that women’s economic empowerment strengthens household resilience, improves nutrition outcomes, and promotes inclusive growth.
This proposal aims to strengthen women-led agribusiness enterprises through skills development, financial access, value chain integration, and market linkages.
