Partners for Prevention: Working to Prevent Violence against Women, is an interagency initiative of UNDP, UNFPA, UN Women and UNV in Asia and the Pacific.
This initiative unites four UN partners under a single regional program team, and consolidates the unique strengths, experiences and areas of expertise of these agencies to create a more comprehensive regional response to gender-based violence (GBV).
Call for Applications: Asia- Pacific Regional Skills Building Workshop on Primary Prevention
Partners for Prevention is holding the Asia- Pacific Regional Skills Building Workshop on Primary Prevention from November 3-5, 2011 in Colombo, Sri Lanka.
In this context , applications are currently invited from practitioners from the Asia-Pacific region to participate in this regional workshop aimed at building practical skills for those implementing, planning or considering primary prevention projects/programs.
The workshop will also be an opportunity to network and share experiences from projects and initiatives focused on primary prevention of gender-based violence from the Asia and Pacific region. Partners for Prevention is drawing upon resource people with extensive experiences and expertise in primary prevention of gender-based violence, prevention programming, and gender-based violence research. Expected outcomes
Participants will share knowledge and skills to:
– Design and coordinate primary prevention projects based on evidence and promising practices
– Implement effective monitoring and evaluation plans for GBV prevention initiatives
Target Audience
The workshop is targeted at 25 participants drawn from Governments, UN agencies, and civil society organisations working in the Asia-Pacific region. All participants will be planning or implementing a primary prevention project or strategy.
Costs Involved
There are no registration fees. Applicants are required to cover all related costs in full (round trip transportation, visa fees, airport transfers, per diem, and any other expenses).
