1440 foundation-1440 Challenge $25,000 awards program

The 1440 foundation announce “1440 Challenge” it is an awards program — totaling $75,000 — aimed at further developing the best new ideas that help people learn, improve, and share the life skills of self-awareness, authenticity, trust, and empathy.

1440 Foundation supports programs and best practices that cultivate authentic relationship skills in the education, wellness, and the workplace.

The 1440 Challenge seeks to find, reward, and nurture the best ideas that inspire people to focus on relationships and become champions of compassion. Ideas can be curricula, tools, apps, or other solutions that mobilize understanding, development, and the use of these critical life skills.

Up to three prizes of $25,000 each will be awarded. In addition to the prize money, winning individuals may have the opportunity to receive ongoing support and mentoring from a team of professional advisers separate and apart from the 1440 Foundation. Winning U.S. public charities may have the opportunity to receive ongoing support and mentoring from a team of professional advisers which may be connected with the 1440 Foundation or may be separate and apart from the 1440 Foundation, or both.

At any time during the competition, participants are encouraged to revise their entries based on questions and insights that they receive in the 1440 Challenge discussion on Facebook, Twitter, and other social media in which 1440 Foundation engages. Participation in the discussion enhances an entrant’s prospects in the competition, and provides the 1440 Challenge community an opportunity to understand the entrant’s project more completely.

Your submission idea should:

Help people learn, practice, improve, and share one or more of the following four basic relationship skills: self-awareness, authenticity, trust, and empathy;
Apply to one or more of the following areas: education, wellness, or the workplace;
Mobilize authentic connections either inside individuals, between and among people, and/or within communities.
Use technology (broadly defined as curricula, tools, apps, social media or other applications) to effectively reach a wide audience.
Be easy to use so that non-experts (in technology) can have easy access.

Eligibility : Any individuals 18 years or older, teams of individuals 18 years or older, and U.S. public charities are eligible to apply. Applicants may apply more than once for distinctly different ideas. Current grantees of 1440 Foundation are encouraged to apply.

Those directly contracted with the 1440 Foundation or the 1440 Challenge, however, will be excluded. This includes 1440 Foundation employees, consultants, officers, and directors of 1440 Foundation; the 1440 Foundation’s affiliates, partners, advertising administrators, and promotions agencies, including (but not limited to) employers of Contest and judges as well as their immediate families (parents, children, siblings, spouse) or members of the same household (whether related or not) of such employees/officers/directors
