Euclid Network invites applications from people across the world for participation in International Social Innovation Competition. The competition is intended for social innovators from across the world who have pioneering ideas about solving different types of challenges being faced by the Naples city. Corruption is one such challenge that has badly affected the city of Naples in the recent times. The International Social Innovation Competition is an effort to find solutions for all such challenges in front of Naples, with the help of most creative minds from around the world.
Competition
The competition is open for social innovators from around the world: If you have an idea how to solve one of the challenges set for Naples by Euclid Network’s team, you are the right person to submit your application. The most important thing is that you need to be innovative and creative in your approach. If your idea is selected as a winner for one of the challenges, you will receive €10,000 prize money which acts as seed funding to test the idea and turn it into a project. If the project is feasible the necessary fundraising will be done to cover the budget for the implementation of the whole project. The applications will be judged by a high level jury.
The Euclid Network is also running a competition for Italian students and recent graduates (up to the age of 30). If you have an idea how to solve the challenges, apply and get help from to win an Erasmus for Young Entrepreneurs bursary.
Why running a competition?
Euclid Network believes a competition provides challenges, which motivate innovators from each and every sector to come up with new ideas and solutions to change a long and persisting problem. Rewarding these excellent ideas drives the brightest minds to engage in competitions challenging the status quo.
Conference 21-23 September 2011
The winners will be awarded at the Euclid Network’s conference to be held from September 21 – September 23, 2011
The conference is free to attend for Euclid members. The conference will take place in the beautiful Naples Chamber of Commerce (pictures) and in the Palace of the Archbishop of Naples.
Implementation
The winning idea will be implemented by the winners together with the local partners. The €10,000 will be used as seed funding to each winner of the international competition. This will be used to implement the idea and start turning it into a project. Necessary additional funding will be made available if the project is judged to be feasible.
