The 3rd International Conference on Family Planning is being organized under The Centre for African Family Studies (CAFS). This program is being supported by The David and Lucile Packard Foundation. This conference will be conducted in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia from the 12 to 15 November 2013.
Person Specification–
- Knowledge of Family Planning and SRHR in one or more of the following: policy, advocacy and communication, services
- Knowledge of youth development programming, advocacy work, resources mobilization
- Work experience with SRHR, Population and Health organizations or affiliation to those
- Good communication (both oral and writing) and presentation skills
Eligibility & Criteria-
- Between 18-24 years of age
- Nationals of Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, Tanzania, Democratic Republic of Congo. On exceptional basis, candidates from other African countries might be considered
- Have passion and experience in promotion and advocacy for youth sexual and reproductive health and rights in their communities
- Applicants must fill out the application form
- If awarded applicants must actively participate in all youth related activities of the conference and submit a report to CAFS at the end of the conference.
- Attend the conference in its entirety
- Be able to communicate in English and/or French, both orally and in writing. Translation will be available at plenary sessions, but this will not be possible for all breakout sessions
- Have regular access to email, as that will be organizations way of communicating with you about deadlines, registration, hotel and travel arrangements
- Possess an interest in Family planning, SRHR and Youth development issues
