Global Change makers was founded in 2007 by six young activists in collaboration with British council. Global change maker has its network in community of over 730 Change makers in 121 countries world -wide. The mission of the program is to empower youth to catalyze positive social change. It has expanded since its inception, and is now built on three pillars: Learning, Doing and Advocacy.
EURO-AFRICA YOUTH SUMMIT 2012: BRUSSEL
This is the 6th EURO-AFRICA youth summit. The name aim of this summit is to increase young people’s participation in the Euro-African co-operation and to reinforce youth work in Africa and Europe by influencing policies in both continents. The participation and co -operation of empowered young men and women is crucial to shape the policies and action plan of the Africa-EU Strategy.
The Global Change makers will bring 60 community activists, social entrepreneurs and volunteers from the two regions – Sub-Saharan Africa and Europe – to the summit. The summit 2012 will be held in Brussels from 24 – 30 June. The call for applications is open for social entrepreneurs, community activists and volunteers’ aged 18- 24.The applicant should be a resident sub Saharan Africa or Europe. 60 participants will be new change makers who have not participated before. The people who w ant to participate can apply from 30th January to 17th February.
If someone has already taken part in one of the summits of The Global Change maker, he/she can apply for one of the positions as peer facilitator.
