The European Association of History Educators (EUROCLIO) is an International NGO that actively functions as a European wide facilitator for innovation and progress in History Education. The organisation contributes not only to the development, but also on the actual implementation of regional, national and European long-term projects, which focus on establishing knowledge, experience and expertise in the countries by training and consulting teachers
EUROCLIO is going to organize its Annual Conference for 2012 in Antalya, Turkey on April 1-7, 2012. This annual conference will be a multi-facetted event offering participants a chance to contribute to shaping the face of contemporary history education. It’ll also provide participants opportunities to learn and develop with hundreds of other experts of the field.
EUROCLIO is currently seeking grant applications from interested individuals to attend the History Conference.

About the Conference
EUROCLIO will organize the conference in cooperation with the Association of History Educators of Turkey. The conference will take place in the beautiful historical surroundings of Antalya, Turkey. It has been validated by the European Union and has been published in the Comenius and Gruntvig Catalogue offering the unique opportunity to participants from EU Member States to apply for European Grants.
The 19th Annual International Professional Development Conference will explore different perspectives in history education that are common to European countries and transcend the individual national perspective and discuss the possibilities of common initiatives for the future. At the conference, six days are filled with a variety of activities ranging from key-note lectures from world-renowned scholars to practitioners and researchers engaging each other and the audience in panel discussions. The 19th Annual Conference will follow the highly evaluated format of its predecessors. A guarantee for plenty of space for interaction and active participation. All together, an enriching and thought-provoking experience.

Who Can Apply?
History teachers, teacher trainers, and teachers in other subjects relevant to the theme are eligible to apply through EU National Agencies for the grants (Comenius and Gruntvig).
Last date for submitting the applications is September 15, 2011.
