DW-AKADEMIE is the international center for media capacity building of Deutsche Welle (DW), Germany’s international broadcaster.
DW-AKADEMIE’s fields of activity are:
- Training journalists, technicians, trainers and management of partner broadcasters around the world
- Training Deutsche Welle’s young journalists in internships and practical placement programs
- Media training for specialist and management personnel — also in an intercultural context
DW-AKADEMIE has decades of experience in media development cooperation. Its journalistic, intercultural and technical know-how guarantee that its training concepts are constantly being refined and adapted to the latest standards.
The managing director of DW-AKADEMIE is Gerda Meuer. She is backed up by a team of dedicated and experienced media professionals.
DW-Akademie Young Media Summit 2011, Tunis
DW-Akademie invites bloggers, Internet activists and freelance online-journalists from Tunisia, Morocco, Algeria, Libya or Mauritania to participate in a forum to exchange views on the political situation in the region, the role of social media, quality standards in online-reporting, the economic potential of blogging and start a network with fellow bloggers. The summit will be held in Tunis during 3 – 5 October 2011.
During the Summit, DW-Akademie intends to bring together 30 bloggers to discuss social media in North Africa. DW-Akademie will cover travel-expenses and accommodation for invited delegates.
Last date for submission of application is August 7, 2011.
