Call for Proposals are invited for “Working Together: Engaging communities to end violence against women and girls”. Status of Women Canada invites organizations to apply for funding to carry out projects which promote equality for women and girls as well as reduce gender-based violence in Canada.
Eligibility Criterion:
- Legally constituted not-for-profit and for-profit Canadian organizations with the mandate, experience, expertise and capacity to deliver the proposed project
- Territorial governments and their agencies in the Yukon, the Northwest Territories and Nunavut
- Aboriginal governments and their agencies in rural and remote areas where there is a lack of capacity of non-profit and for-profit organizations
Costs to be funded:
Eligible expenditure categories are detailed in the budget form.
Administration costs, which are costs related to central administrative functions of the organization that are used to support project activities. These costs must not exceed 20% of the total amount requested from Status of Women Canada. Administration costs could include, but are not limited to: salaries and benefits specifically relating to administration and managerial supervision; professional fees (e.g. accounting); office expenses; office equipment (e.g. photocopiers and computer equipment); postage; telephones; IT maintenance and other related costs. What cannot be funded?
- Ongoing activities, including operations.
- Activities that have already taken place.
- Research and polling activities.
- Domestic advocacy activities.
- Lobbying of federal, provincial/territorial and/or municipal governments.
- Capital expenditures (such as land, buildings, vehicles or other major capital costs).
- Travel and other expenses incurred outside of Canada.
- Costs incurred by applicants before a funding decision has been made by the Minister for Status of Women.
