Internship: Open Society Initiative for Europe (OSIFE)
These internships by Open Society Foundations aim to increase the internal diversity of the anti-discrimination field while giving the opportunity to young graduates with a minority background to overcome the material, financial and physical obstacles that prevent them from developing their potential and gaining experience in line with their qualifications.
In return, the organizations will benefit from the young graduate’s skills, personal experiences and knowledge of the minority community of origin.
Budget & Duration
Internships’ duration can vary between 3 and 6 months. The foundation will also consider proposals offering two intern positions of 3 months each. All positions offered must be full-time. The minimum amount for a six-month internship is 10,000 USD and the maximum is 20,000 USD
Exchanges: Open Society Initiative for Europe (OSIFE)
Within this scheme, OSIFE foresees three main forms of exchanges that can be bilateral or unidirectional. In the case of a bilateral exchange, staff of each of the two partner organizations spends a period of work (between one week and three months) within the other partner organization.
Budget & Duration
The duration for all types of exchanges can vary between 1 week and 3 months, depending on the availability of each organization. All positions offered must be at least 80% or full-time. The maximum amount for the exchange project (for the two organizations together) is 25,000 USD.
A single proposal must be submitted jointly by the two entities interested in an exchange and meeting the eligibility criteria.
One-directional Placements: Open Society Initiative for Europe (OSIFE)
Within this scheme, OSIFE foresees two forms of placements of an individual in a mainstream or generalist human rights, anti-discrimination NGO, or in a minority-led or grassroots organization. Applicant organizations are invited to choose one or more of these categories according to their mission and needs.
Organizations meeting the eligibility criteria are invited to fill in the corresponding section in the application template attached to this call. They will be required to provide detailed information about their work and to submit a clear placement plan indicating the activities that will be undertaken by the NGO representative or individual professional they will welcome in their organization.

Budget & Duration
Placements of researchers or journalists can last up to 3 months, depending on the availability of each organization and placed individual. Offered positions can be full-time or part-time. The maximum amount is 25,000 USD.
