The objective of the Food Security Programme for linking relief to rehabilitation and development in Afghanistan is to increase the food security of highly vulnerable households by supporting measures to increase production or improve purchasing power through community-based integrated food security projects. The allocation for the present call for proposals is EUR 5 million.
The global objective of this restricted call for proposals is to improve the food security status of poor and vulnerable households suffering from protracted instability.
The specific objective of this call for proposals is to support interventions aiming at recovering, stabilising and enhancing livelihoods of Afghan rural populations in post- crisis situations, with the aim of transitioning from relief to mainstream development.
Issues to be prioritized under this programme in the respective target areas are as follows:
1. Recovery and improvement of rural livelihoods
2. Promotion of social and economic activities for the stabilisation of rural livelihoods in post-crisis situations
