Minority Rights International (MRG) Invites applications for Online Training Course “Global Advocacy Programm Asia” , Duration of this course will be 12 weeks, conducted during 24 September 2012 to December 14th, 2012 online.
- Are you working on minority rights issues in Asia? *
- Are you working on minority rights in one of the following countries: Bangladesh, Burma, Cambodia, India, Indonesia, Nepal, Malaysia, Pakistan, Philippines, Sri Lanka, Thailand, or Vietnam?
- Are you looking to increase your advocacy skills and learn more about minority rights?
- Have you been working or volunteering for an organization working on minority rights for at least two years?
If so, then you should apply for Minority Rights Group’s online training on minority rights advocacy,
Each participant required to spend at least 5 hours a week, aspirants who are already employed or working required to submit a letter from their superior or director mentioning that they have agreed to allow you sufficient time to undertake the course.
In the Course Twenty (20) applicants will be selected from each country
- Applicants must be working for organisations, working in or monitoring human rights in the following countries:
ASIA:Bangladesh,Burma,Cambodia,India,Indonesia,Nepal,Malaysia,Pakistan,Philippines,Sri Lanka,Thailand,Vietnam.
(NOTE: Up to 2 participants can be accepted from each organisation. However if an organisation wishes to have more than one participant, it must ensure that at least 1 applicant is female. We aim to ensure 50% of participants are female.)
- Applications must be competent in English.
- Applicants can be paid or voluntary workers. However they must have a minimum of 2 years experience working on human rights issues.
- Preference will be given to applicants from minority communities or who represent organisations working directly with minority communities.
- Preference will be given to applicants from organisations, who work specifically on minority rights issues. (If possible please include references to minority rights in, organisation strategy documents, statutes or statements of aims). Other applications will be considered, but organisations need to show clearly how their work links with
- minority communities.
- Preference will be given to applicants who are working with communities where there is evidence they are currently subject to breaches of international human rights standards. The course is part of a longer MRG programme that runs until 2012, therefore we will show preference for work in communities where the programme can have an impact within this timeframe.
Letter of recommendation from the director of your organisation or from someone else who knows your work, on an official letterhead where possible A letter of recommendation from the director of the organisation you work for,. If you are not representing an organisation, then the letter should be from a person who knows you and has experience in the field of human rights and preferably, minority rights?
