The Netherlands Fellowship Program is inviting applications from working professionals in government, non-government or private organizations in one of the NFP Countries for Sustainable Tourism Management Training being held in the Netherlands for 3 weeks starting from 15 September 2014 through 3 October 2014. The major objective of the fellowship program is to help increase the number along with competencies of skilled staffs in government and non-government organizations working in the Tourism Sector.
Individuals who serve as national and local policy makers in tourism or related fields; NGO officials working with socio-economic development focusing on tourism; individuals who manage tourism enterprises such as hotels, tours, travel agents, etc., as well as trainers in the field of tourism are encouraged to apply for the training course. Women and those working in Sub-Saharan Africa are strongly encouraged to apply.
The Sustainable Tourism Management Training Course teaches participants about tourism and how tourism activities contribute to a variety of aspects of society such as the economy, the environment, as well as the social development of a specific region. Students will also learn how to implement what they learn in their home countries.
The fellows will receive a certificate upon completion of the course.
Eligibility Criteria –
- Applicant must hold a bachelor’s degree or equivalent; have a minimum of 6 years professional experience with at least 3 of these years serving in a position relevant to the applicant’s profile for admission; and document English proficiency.
- Applicant must be working professional in and from one of the NFP Countries.
- Applicants must be nominated by their employer in order to be considered for the Fellowship. A clear need for training within their organization must be documented.
- Applicants must have a minimum of 3 years of work-related experience and must be able to implement new knowledge and skills into their organization.
