Nominations are accepted for Orange African Social Venture Prize which aims to promote social innovation by supporting development through information and communication technologies (ICT). The first winner will receive grand prize of up to 25 000 euros.
The Prize is awarded to three entrepreneurs or start-ups created less than three years ago that offer high-tech solutions based on mobiles or the Internet to meet the needs of the poorest populations in Africa. The Award embodies the Group’s values and commitments in the AMEA region.
Prize-
- 1st price: 25 000 euros
- 2nd price: 15 000 euros
- 3rd price: 10 000 euros
- In addition to receiving an endowment of 10,000 to 25,000 euros, the three prize-winners will receive six months of support from entrepreneurial and ICT experts.
Eligibility & Criteria-
- Anyone is eligible, as long as the initiatives can be measured in terms of their social impact and use ICT in innovative ways in sectors such as healthcare, agriculture, education and banking services.
- Entrepreneurs over the age of 21 and start-ups operating for less than three years qualify for the Prize. There are no nationality requirements. The projects must be implemented in one of the 18 countries in which Orange operates in Africa.
