The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) is seeking applications form qualified organizations to implement a program entitled “Low Capacity Initiative”. The purpose is to build the capacity of civil society to advocate for improved HIV and AIDS programming for key affected populations in South and Southeast Asia.
USAID expects to award one or more cooperative agreement or grant in the amount of up to $2,700,000 for a three-year program from on or about May 2015.
Priority areas of focus for both the technical assistance and the small grant activities will be:
- Strengthening advocacy capacity;
- Strengthening organizational and institutional capacity, and;
- Strengthening leadership capacity of individuals to develop, implement, and evaluate advocacy efforts aimed at improving HIV and AIDS programming for key affected populations.
Eligibility Criteria
- List of eligible countries include South and Southeast Asian such as Thailand, Laos, Bangladesh, Burma, Cambodia, East Timor, India, Indonesia, Nepal, Pakistan, Philippines, Sri Lanka, and Vietnam.
- Local or regionally-based organizations may apply.
- Eligible local or regionally-based organizations include individual, a corporation, or a nonprofit organization.
